About the translator:

Chief Ian Campbell’s ancestral name is Xalek. He is from the lineage of Xatslanexw (Kitsilano) and is a descendant of both the Squamish and Musqueam People. His Chieftain name is Sekyu Siyam from the village of K’ik’elxn (Port Mellon) on the West Side of Howe Sound. He is one of sixteen Hereditary Chiefs of the Squamish Nation and was their Lead Negotiator for 22 years. He was taught the rich history and culture of the Coast Salish people from a young age, and was immersed in the ceremonies, mythology and traditions by his grandparents and elders.
