Our Stories Live Here

Starting February 1, 2022 visitors to MOV will be able to interact with I Dream Library’s Our Stories Live Here installation in the Skate for Change micro-exhibition at the Museum of Vancouver!

I Dream Library connects students, caregivers, educators & organizations with intersectional 2SQTBIPoC literary selections, anti-racism / DEI training & teaching resources. The installation features a library with K-12 selections, bridging the need for equitable representation in education with themes of community, displacement, and self-representation found in skate culture. By grounding itself in Skate for Change, the installation showcases how various communities groups and organizations can come together and create real and impactful change.

“I want children and young adults of colour to feel that their opinion matters and to have the confidence to express it. That confidence comes from seeing yourself reflected in education and growing up with access to stories, identities and histories that reflect you from your perspective, not only from a colonial perspective.” Aisha Kiani (they/she), I Dream Library Founder and ED

Our Stories Live Here is now part of the Skate for Change micro-exhibition on view at MOV until October 1, 2022
