Evelyn Roth is an internationally renowned textile and performance artist, celebrated for her environmentally conscious storytelling at festivals, schools and community events.

For over 40 years, her work has been featured at major festivals, expos and galleries around the world—including in Brazil, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, the United States, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. She has received numerous awards for her pioneering contributions as an artist-activist and her inventive use of sustainable materials.

Originally from Vancouver, Roth has lived in Australia for several decades, where she continues to create exuberant, environmentally themed installations, participatory performances and pop-up classrooms.

This July, during a visit to Vancouver, she will donate a selection of her performance costumes originally worn in the 1970s to the Museum of Vancouver (MOV). This donation will enhance MOV’s existing holdings and help document her lasting impact on the city’s artistic landscape.

On July 11th, Evelyn Roth will present her wearable art on models and professional dancers, demonstrating how each piece was designed to move with the body. She will share the story behind each creation, accompanied by live acoustic musicians. Join us for this extraordinary opportunity to experience her visionary work live.

Date: Friday, July 11, 2025

Time: noon-1:00pm

Tickets: Free RSVP (donations to the MOV appreciated and can be made onsite)
