Greek XR Between Two Worlds

Greek XR Between Two Worlds exhibition opened on November 26, 2019; the project was a collaboration between SFU (SNF Centre for Hellenic Studies, SNF New Media Lab, and Spatial Interface Research Lab) and MOV. Conceived as a pilot, the project set out to explore the use of XR technologies in a controlled, cultural heritage setting, open only to select groups of elementary students, members and VIPs. Three grade 7 classes from public elementary schools and three classes from Greek community schools toured the exhibition. The pilot was successful in demonstrating the viability of employing XR technologies in cultural heritage environments, as well as illustrating what steps would need to be taken to develop an engaging and effective, educational cultural experience.
